Hello friends. Today is day eight of my new blog. I made a commitment to write every day but it is really hard to keep.
Writing something substantial takes about four hours. I have not had the time to do that for a few days.
I’ve been working on getting my house ready for the new renter, having a yard sale and answering my many emails from all my readers who are becoming my friends. In between that I am trying to help my mother get her house sold and neglecting my exercises because I am not getting enough sleep.
Well, the lack of comments on my blog makes me think that nobody really cares if I write every day, but I did make a promise to do so and I will continue to.
I have a question for anyone who is following my blog. I want to know if you have had the experience of creating a financial goal such as mine - $5000.00 in less than a month - and attained it. If you have done this or if you know someone who has, let me know about it. I would love to hear the story. Tell me the amount of money, the time allotted, the reason they did it and how it worked out. There’s got to be success stories of this kind out there. The guy in The Secret who wrote Chicken Soup for the Soul tells his one million dollar story and that’s cool but I want to hear from people who are not necessarily celebrities, just like me. You can write about it in the comments right here or send me an email, through my website’s home page.
And I want to say thank you again, to all the people who have made such kind and encouraging comments in support of my pursuit of my dreams. I want you to realize your dreams, too.
Running total: Same as yesterday - I am $968.08 closer to my goal of $5000.00

Hi Lisa. I am now catching up on your posts by reading them all start to finish. You are so remarkably candid, honest, open and receptive. I now feel moved to contribute an awareness that I have that may prove useful to you. As you know, my life is no longer about intention but surrender. Most of the money I have earned in life has come by way of commission sales. I discovered empirically how absolutely important it is in that environment to stay focused on the value added to the customer and never even to think of 'my commission.' Just the thought of 'my commission' was the kiss of death to the sale. It was always so satisfying to know how much value I had added to others and then to look at my paychecks and discover I was by far the top paid salesperson. I noticed when I put the money first it was usually to compensate me for the dissatisfaction I experienced with the job, and the results I achieved were pyrrhic at best. Here is a suggestion that might help you reframe the receiving of $5000. My belief is that I am rewarded according to the value I add to others. In that context, your empowering question could be: "How can I most easily add $4031.92 or more of value to others?" I think this totally changes the focus and my experience has been that as a result of adding value to others the universe has always rewarded me generously. Blessings on your conscious pursuits and thank you for the added value of joy, adventure, integrity, trust, and love you bring into the lives of others. Christen
